We're on a road to nowhere...with Joseph Smith and Satan...

OK, on the eve of the election of the century, I am mortified. I am angry. And most of all, I am appalled at the stupidity and absolute ignorance of the people I am required to share my air space with. Standing in line at the grocery store, one woman told me that Obama was going to turn the US into a socialist country. I asked her where she learned this information, and she told me "Inside Edition". (Am I wrong, or isn't that a television version of a tabloid?) That experience led me to reflect on many of the experiences I have had in just the last week that made me realize...this country is full of racist, hateful, oppressive tyrants who will stop at NOTHING to impose their ignorance on others, and hence...We're on a road to nowhere..and fast.
This Saturday I went on a road trip with Satan and Joseph Smith. Literally. I was, for lack of a better description, TRAPPED for two hours in a car on the way home from Chino with my extremely liberal & outwardly verbal mother (SATAN) and a Extreme Republican Mormon Band Mom we were carpooling with (Joseph Smith). In the pouring rain. With no escape. Seriously. Suddenly, Joseph Smith began talking about how if that NEGRO wins the election, this country will become ISLAM, and how he wants to take all of the hard earned money she has made and give it to some lowlife illegal immigrant who will by drugs with it. She then went on to say that she hopes some redneck in Kansas KILLS Obama, and she's sure it is bound to happen soon. From there, she jumped in to how sick it is that our first graders are going to be taught about gay marriage and lesbian sex acts (AN ABSOLUTE LIE), and Obama is the biggest supporter of it. By this time, I wanted to DIVE out of the car going 75 in the pouring rain, because it would be more tolerable than the bullshit rhetoric I was forced to endure in this vehicle. Now, my mother is the woman who taught me right from wrong, and she is also the person I learned tolerance from (ironically, since she has no tolerance for my differences! LOL) but above all, I was always taught that it is NEVER ok to discriminate against anyone because of their differences. I thought she was about to drive off the road in shock at how disgusting this woman's views were. However..in one short second, my mother became a coward. In disguise of social etiquette, my mother kept her mouth shut. I therefore, became appalled. Later, I asked her why she didnt tell this woman where to shove it, and why she didnt argue with the woman when she clearly knew everything she was saying was absolute CRAP. My mother's response impressed more than anything she could have ever said to that hateful bitch...she said.."Don't try to teach a pig new tricks. It wastes your time, and annoys the pig." Enough said.
That woman, in short, is a pig. I can't wait to see what tomorrow's lesson is.
so..good night,...and VOTE NO ON PROP 8!! PROP 8 MEANS HATE!

My personal abduction experience at Area 51

Well, we haven't had quite the response we were hoping for with our last post. The intention of this blogging assignment was to find out how much influence we could have on the public sphere by blogging our ideals and opinions, and therefore make an impact on the world. We even used inflamatory language with the hope that we would spark a fire in someone enough that they would, A) tell us to fuck ourselves, B) make a good argument as to why we were batshit crazy, or C) cause enough of a ruckus that other people would be intrigued enough to check out what was happening on our side of the bloggosphere. None of that happened. So, here is our plea...what makes you interested in a blog? What would make you want to respond and become an active participant? As far as we can tell from this experience so far, pornography, stories about bees, and alien abduction are the only things that make people think these days. So, now, we are off to write a pornographic bee abduction story to post later...I hope you are pleased. So, here is our video of the week:

Let's get it started in here...

As a group, we have discussed the idea of barring the uneducated or "culturally ignorant" (ie: have not progressed from backwards thinking) from influencing the public sphere. While this idea could come across to some as harsh or elitist, our point was actually that we believe that in order to influence the public sphere, a person should be required to meet certain requirements for the sake of progression. This comes from the idea that if "social retards" keep participating in social discussion, they only pull the discussion down, or in a circle, therefore preventing us from moving forward and solving actual problems in our society...and that sucks.

For an example of this type of sidelining ignorant banter, check out this video:

While watching this, we felt that some of these statements these people were making were racism disguised as "patriotism". In this latest election, we have heard statements from the "right wing conservatives" that claim liberals are anti-American, parts of this country are more PRO-America than others (ie: the ones that vote republican),and Obama is a Muslim terrorist who wants to turn this country into a socialist government. All of these statements are intended to influence the public sphere and they are using FEAR as a motivator.

This type of campaign is evaluating a candidate using intuition and impressions rather than research and fact, and this is a dangerous way to elect an official.

So what do you think? Agree or disagree, we want to hear from you!
